Ladbrokes.com Championship: Donegal Celtic 1 (McAlorum) Limavady United 0
Donegal Celtic skipper Stephen McAlorum scored a late, late winner at Celtic Park on Tuesday to close the gap at the top of the table to just three points.
The hoops underperformed against the league leaders in a tense game but McAlorum broke the deadlock when he nicked the ball from Limavady goalkeeper Michael Doherty with just three minutes remaining.
Boss Pat McAllister said: "This was a vital win for us. No-one will care about the performance in the days ahead, it was the result that mattered most. I am relieved, it was not easy watching that from the sideline."
Celtic face Ards in a league clash on Saturday at Celtic Park.
Don't forget, on Sunday the Sean Armstrong Tribute game will be staged at Celtic Park, where the 2003 Irish Cup winning Coleraine side will face the 2003 Donegal Celtic side that won the Steel and Sons Cup.
That game and entertainment kicks-off at 1pm with an U10 game. The main game starts at 2pm. Admission is £5.
