The comfortable St Matthew’s club in the Short Strand was the focus of attention in this week’s Harp League programme. The dart faithful turned up in numbers to witness the preliminary matches payed over two nights in the host club’s cup competition. Wednesday night saw six teams to the oche with two winning their way through to contest finals night.
It was a hectic final week in what was a very successful Harp Lager League season and after Wednesday night’s Harp League matches Caulfields and Shamrock Celtic finished level on points at the top of the table. In Wednesday’s clashes both Caulfields and Shamrock came good with 6-4 results over Crumlin Star and Hibs respectively.
This week it was the first round of the Edmund Branney Perpetual Cup and Shield (five a sides). There were some good matches to look forward to, especially the game between Sliabh Dubh A and St John’s Star A and the large crowd in St John’s were looking forward to some good games. First up was the Marty B taking on the Marty C.
